Vouchers for the Cala Moraig car park
In the
extraordinary plenary session of 19th February 2025 the town hall agreed to amend
the municipal ordinance regulating traffic in particular the long term parking
system so that the owners of properties in Benitatxell who are not registered
on the Benitatxell census will have the possibility to buy 2 vouchers per property
for the 6 month parking season at Cala Moraig for 40€ per month.
If the owners have several properties they will only be able to buy a total of 2 vouchers. How to purchase the vouchers and the documentation required for their purchase is expected to be published shortly.
The new voucher system is intended to favour non-registered homeowners of the municipality who regularly visit the Moraig Cove. Until the modification of the ordinance, non-registered homeowners had to pay the same rate as visitors.
The cost of
the voucher has been calculated on the basis of the double annual cost of the Tax
on motor vehicles (I.V.T.M.) paid by residents, i.e. if the average I.V.T.M. is 110€ per
year the cost of the voucher will be 220€ per season, approximately 40€ per
month.
Residents who pay the IVTM tax in the municipality remain exempt from payment.
The Mayor
reports the following key figures:
- Revenue from the Cala Moraig car park: 405.000€
- Number of vehicles using the car park: 33.750 cars
- Cost per vehicle in 2024: 2,29€
- Estimated cost per vehicle for 2025 (due to the service maintenance costs): 3,01€
- Parking fee per vehicle and day for 2025: 15€
- Cost of the voucher for 2025: 220€ per season, approximately 40€ per month
